Guided by a commitment to sustainable development, Damour for Community Development (DCD) outlines its strategic directions to enhance the resilience of Palestinian communities. Our key strategies focus on environmental protection, community support, and youth employment, driving impactful change and fostering a sustainable future in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Strengthen DCD’s organizational and management capacity to enhance its effectiveness and sustainability across Gaza and the West Bank.
Focus on critical sectors such as alternative energy, waste management, access to clean water, climate change adaptation, youth skills development, and women’s economic and social empowerment.
Bolster the technical capacity of local partners in key development sectors, ensuring that they are well-equipped to address the challenges facing their communities.
Foster robust local, regional, and international partnerships that enable us to influence relevant policies in Palestine and surrounding countries, aligned with DCD’s mission and objectives.
Utilize media and awareness campaigns to promote responsible and constructive dialogue around issues of just peace, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Actively promote positive internal and external dialogues that contribute to just peace, environmental sustainability, and the overall development of communities.
We offer impactful training programs to equip individuals and communities with essential skills and knowledge. By providing hands-on learning and support, we empower participants to drive their own growth and contribute to sustainable development. Together, we build a brighter future.
Procurement and Installation: DCD has successfully procured and installed two WaterGen Devices in the Gaza Strip. One device, located in Abasan Town, produces 900 liters of fresh water per day, while the other, in Khan Younis City, produces 5,000 liters per day. These devices provide critical access to clean water for local communities.
Installation and Operation: We have mobilized resources to procure, install, and operate solar energy units in the Gaza Strip. These units include a 106 KW system for water production in various areas and a 21 KW system in Abasan Town used for wastewater treatment.
Design and Implementation: DCD has designed and implemented a pilot wastewater treatment system in Abasan Town, Gaza Strip. The system treats 120 cubic meters of wastewater per day, serving 200 households. We are currently working to secure resources for a complete wastewater treatment system for the town.
